Go out of your way

Welcome to our new #MOVETHEDIAL STORE

#movethedial is a global movement dedicated to increasing the participation and leadership of all women in technology.  Since its beginning in 2017, the movement has gained incredible momentum. Through impactful corporate and community partnerships, a global events series and an annual Global Summit for 3000+ people, #movethedial has made a positive difference to many thousands of people and hundreds of companies around the world.

Due to COVID-19 and the impact the pandemic has had on our funding, #movethedial has been forced to pause operations with the aim of preserving the organization we’ve worked so hard to build so we can continue to support the movement in the long term.

We are deeply optimistic and believe that #movethedial 2.0 will emerge as a strong, resilient organization. So we built this shop to keep the spark alive, and enable our community to continue to engage and support #movethedial and help us rebuild. And to remind all of us that we can each Go Out of Our Way and make a difference. That #movethedial is more than just a movement -- it’s a belief in change and a desire to create impact, it’s a community of brave leaders and innovators who want to actively create social good. #movethedial is you, it’s me, it’s all of us. And despite us pausing our operations, it will still live on.

Thank you for your support!

Jodi’s Book, Go Out of Your Way, endorsed by Sheryl Sandberg, Reshma Saujani, Claudette McGowan and Takara Small is an inspiring memoir of a 42-year-old woman in a mostly all-male tech world.  She offers great advice: If you are generous to others, not only will it help them, but it will also boost your own career. With personal examples and insights from savvy business leaders, Jodi Kovitz illustrates the power of generosity and going out of your way to help people.

Kovitz also describes how other people went out of their way to help her when she launched #movethedial, a global movement to get more women into tech. Now she’s sharing her methods for creating meaningful relationships to empower women in tech and all lines of business.

About the Author: Jodi Kovitz is the Toronto-based founder and CEO of #movethedial, a global movement she launched in January 2017 to advance the participation and leadership of women in tech. #movethedial has engaged > 60,000 people through the power of storytelling and driving substantial, measurable change in tech. In 2020, Jodi was recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators as Communicator of the Year.
